Hello again! Today, I’m excited to share one of my favorite ways to use honey—right on my skin. You might already know that honey tastes amazing, but did you know it can also help make our faces feel soft and smooth? I’m not a doctor or a beauty expert, but I’d love to tell you about the simple honey face routine I’ve tried at home.
Why Honey Feels So Good on My Skin
- Natural Moisturizer: Honey helps lock in moisture, so it can keep my skin feeling soft.
- Gentle Cleanser: It has properties that can help clean away dirt without being harsh.
- Easy to Find: Since we have plenty of local honey here in the Philippines, it’s easy to buy and use!
My Super Simple Honey Face Mask
Here’s how I make a quick face mask at home:
- Wash My Face: First, I wash my face with warm water to open up my pores.
- Apply Honey: I take a spoonful of pure honey (not too hot!) and gently spread it all over my face. I avoid getting too close to my eyes or hair.
- Wait and Relax: I leave the honey on my face for about 10–15 minutes. During this time, I might read a book or listen to music.
- Rinse with Warm Water: Finally, I rinse off the honey with warm water, and then pat my face dry with a clean towel.
After this, my face usually feels fresh and smooth!
My Honey and Oat Scrub
Sometimes, I like a gentle scrub to remove dead skin cells. That’s when I add oatmeal to my honey:
- Mix 1 tablespoon of honey with 1 tablespoon of ground oats.
- Gently rub the mixture on my face in small, circular motions for about a minute.
- Rinse with warm water.
I love how my skin feels after—super soft, like I just visited a spa!
A Few Important Reminders
- Test First: Before putting honey on my face, I usually test a small drop on my wrist to be sure I’m not allergic.
- Be Mindful of Stickiness: Honey can drip, so I wear an old shirt or wrap a towel around my shoulders.
- Don’t Overdo It: I only do these masks once or twice a week because too much scrubbing or masking might irritate my skin.
Sweet and Simple
That’s it! My honey beauty trick is quick, easy, and smells yummy. I love knowing that the honey I’m using comes from local Filipino beekeepers who care for their bees. If you have any favorite honey-based skincare ideas, I’d be happy to hear them!
