Hi there, honey friends! Today, I’m super excited to share my favorite honey drinks that help me feel strong and healthy—perfect for our warm days in the Philippines or those times when I need a quick pick-me-up.
My Honey-Calamansi Zing
When I want something cool and tangy, I reach for calamansi and honey!
- Squeeze fresh calamansi juice into a glass (I like using about 4–5 small calamansi).
- Add a spoonful of honey.
- Mix with some cool water and give it a taste.
If I need extra energy, I might add more honey. It’s a sweet, sour, and refreshing drink all at once!
Ginger Tea (Salabat) with Honey
I love salabat (ginger tea) whenever my throat feels scratchy or I want to warm up on a rainy day.
- Boil some slices of fresh ginger in water.
- Strain the water into a mug and let it cool just a little bit.
- Stir in a spoonful of honey and sip slowly.
The ginger helps my tummy feel calm, and the honey adds a yummy sweetness that’s good for my throat.
Honey-Lemon Cooler
Another simple favorite is a honey-lemon cooler. Here’s how I do it:
- Slice a lemon and squeeze out the juice.
- Mix the lemon juice with cold water and a spoon of honey.
- Add ice if the day is super hot.
Sometimes I throw in a few mint leaves if I have any in the kitchen. It’s like a mini spa treat at home!
Why These Drinks Make Me Feel Great
Honey is packed with natural goodness, and it helps give me energy during the day. Meanwhile, fruits like calamansi and lemon have lots of Vitamin C to support my immune system. Ginger adds warmth and can soothe my throat. It’s like my own little team of tasty helpers!
A Sweet Reminder
Even though these drinks are good for us, I remember not to overdo it. Too much honey or citrus can be overwhelming. A small spoonful or two of honey is often enough to sweeten my drink, and a few slices of fruit make it taste wonderful.
Thank you for joining me on Day 9 of our honey journey! Tomorrow, I’ll share more fun tips for using honey in our everyday meals. Until then, stay sweet and keep sipping those healthy drinks!
